Alpha Gams Give Back to the Community
The Theta Mu Chapter strives to give back to the community.  Helping organizations and people in need is an integral part of Alpha Gamma Delta.  The Theta Mu Chapter holds a variety of events each semester to donate to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which is in support of juvenile diabetes.

Our main fundraiser for the 2007-08 school year was our Charity Denim.  This event was put on solely by the woman of Alpha Gamma Delta.  In the student union on campus designer jeans were sold for great prices.  Our chapter was able to raise $1099 for our philanthropy, juvenile diabetes, with the help of UNCW's students, faculty, and friends.

The sisters of Theta Mu's Alpha Gamma Delta also put together a Relay for Life Team, for New Hanover County's event.  The team was able to raise over $500 for cancer and donate our own time to walking and taking place in R4L on April 25th and 26th.

Individually each sister also strives to volunteer around the community in efforts to give back.  Each sister volunteers at least 10 hours a semester, and strives to go above and beyond this minimum.  Alpha Gams have volunteered at various places such as the Woodlot Project, Red Cross Blood Drive, 15th Annual Intercultural Festival, R. Bryan Collections 2nd Annual Fundraising Fashion Shop, 2nd Annual Walk to benefit Carolina Canines for Service, Community Boys and Girls Club, and the Good Shepard Center.  Also, tabs have been collected for the Ronald McDonald house and vitamins and drugs have been donated for AMSA.
