"We'll keep you close as always, it won't even seem you've gone, 'cause our hearts in big and small ways, will keep the love that keeps up strong."

This song, “Friends Are Friends Forever,” is a fundamental portion of the recruitment ceremony for Alpha Gamma Delta.  Not only is the song an important and emotional part of our Preference ceremony, but it speaks the truth of how each of our sisters will carry Annie McLeod’s memory with them forever.      

     When Annie McLeod walked into a room, you noticed; when she spoke, you listened; when she said she loved you, you knew she meant it.  These are all reasons why Annie’s friends, family and sisters treasure the person she was.  She always had a smile on her face and had an uncanny ability to lift the spirit of those around her.  Always putting others first, Annie never hesitated to lend a hand or an ear to those around her.

    We counted on her to undertake the most stressful and time consuming tasks within the sorority. She wrote and choreographed two entire talent show performances and planned one of Alpha Gam’s most successful recruitments; putting in countless hours of work to pull everything together. Her creativity and energy was unique and we will aspire to continue that legacy of excellence.  

    As a sisterhood, we remain positive as we share stories about our beloved friend.  We know that we must keep our heads high because that is what Annie would have wanted.  Our chapter has stuck together as we have held gatherings on campus and in the homes of our sisters to comfort one another at this time.

   The UNCW Greek Talent show, which took place on Sunday, April 6th was dedicated to Annie’s memory.  Alpha Gamma Delta partnered with Kappa Sigma and danced their way to first place.  It was all for Annie!!

    We would like to thank UNCW and the entire Greek Community for the out pour of love and support we have received. Just as we are, we know the entire University is grieving for this remarkable individual. Please continue to keep her friends and family in your thoughts and prayers and Annie will forever be missed.
